Holy Cross Academy Traditions
Traditions are an essential part of family life, and here at Holy Cross they thrive within our walls. We celebrate the values and customs that connect us and enrich our Catholic community. Each tradition helps to create a of belonging and continuity, fostering a spirit of unity among students and families. Together, we honor our past while looking forward to a bright future.
Kindergarten & Eighth Grade Buddies
This HCA tradition reflects the core beliefs in our Mission Statement. Our kindergartener are paired with their 8th-grade buddy at the start of the academic year. This unique partnership allows our eighth graders to lead and guide their younger buddies during mass, events, and activities, fostering a nurturing environment that embodies our core beliefs. Through this mentorship, we cultivate a sense of community and support, ensuring our students grow together in faith and friendship.
Recommitment Mass
Our Catholic faith guides every aspect of our lives. During our Recommitment Mass, we reaffirm our dedication to education in the Catholic faith; embracing the teachings that inspire our growth. Together, we celebrate this commitment and the positive impact it has on our journey of faith.

May Crowning
During the beautiful month May we celebrate our Blessed Virgin Mary. Our students and faculty come together around our statue of Mary to honor her with flowers, heartfelt hymns, and the prayerful recitation of the rosary. The culmination of our celebration is a special moment where we place a crown of flowers upon the Blessed Mother. It's a cherished tradition that brings our community closer to faith and each other.
8th Grade Final Walk
One of our sweetest moments here at Holy Cross is our 8th grade final walk. As graduates walk down the halls for the last time, they are greeted with cheers and congratulations from fellow students, teachers, and faculty. This heartfelt celebration marks the beginning of their next adventure as they prepare to head off to high school. It’s a moment filled with pride, joy, and lasting memories.
