FINANCIAL INFORMATION

Financial Assistance

The Diocesan Tuition Assistance Program provides financial assistance to families in Catholic schools in the Diocese of Arlington through the Rooted in Faith~Forward in Hope Capital Campaign Endowment. It is open to all qualified students whose parents might not otherwise be able to pay the full cost of tuition. Information and deadlines regarding the program can be found here:  https://www.arlingtondiocese.org/Catholic-Schools/Diocesan-Tuition-Assistance-Program/

Holy Cross Academy provides additional tuition assistance as well. Families in need of tuition assistance must first complete the FACTS Grant &  Aid application as mandated by the Diocese of Arlington. Award decisions are generated from the school when students are accepted.

For further information, please review the FACTS links below.

Scholarship Funds

Although Holy Cross Academy does not provide scholarships, several funds have been established which allow the school to provide tuition assistance for families.  The school is grateful for the generosity of parishioners and other friends of the school who provide this support. Awards from these funds are distributed through the FACTS application process.

  • Fr. McMahon Restricted Fund - established at the opening of the school to assist in funding financial aid awards

  • JoAnn James Memorial Scholarship - established in memory of our beloved Mrs. JoAnn James and awarded annually to a student who exemplifies the qualities Mrs. James taught to her students: industry, citizenship and loyalty.

  • Viola Graves Scholarship Fund - established by the estate of a parishioner of St. Mary's for financial aid funds

  • Kari R. Zehner Scholarship Fund - established to offer an annual $1,000.00 academic award to a returning Middle School student who demonstrates academic excellence

  • Council of Catholic Women Scholarship - provides a generous donation to assist financial aid for parishioners of St. Mary's

The following organizations also offer an annual scholarship award application process:

  • Ancient Order of Hibernians Grant - Gen. Meagher Division grant recipients are selected by the school principal and faculty based on scholastic achievement, community service, financial need, and commitment/acceptance to attend St Michael the Archangel or Pope John Paul the Great Catholic high schools. This grant is specifically to defray tuition expenses. Their website has information regarding the grant: http://www.aohvirginia.org/FredericksburgDiv1

  • Knights of Columbus Scholarship - Information can be obtained from the St. Mary's KOC.  KOC Scholarship Application

Additional funding opportunities are made possible with support from The Community Foundation and the Education Improvement Scholarships Tax Credits Program.  Applications for families who qualify are processed by Holy Cross Academy.
