Nutrition
​We prepare all meals from scratch as much as possible, with fresh ingredients, on site in our Holy Cross kitchen. We prepare a salad bar daily, which is available to middle school students. It features a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables, lean proteins, whole grains and dressings.

We participate in the USDA National School Lunch Program and our standards exceed its requirements for healthy meals.

We are committed to running our lunch operation in a sustainable way. We believe it is important to set an example to the children. This is why we do not use disposables to serve our lunches. We use real lunch trays and flatware every day. We recycle all the glass, plastic, metal and cardboard that is used in our kitchen.

Student Allergies
​Our staff is well informed about food allergies. We are able to make accommodations to the menu to serve students with allergies and special dietary needs. To avoid any cross contamination of peanut and tree nuts our kitchen is 100% nut free. We do not prepare or purchase any foods containing nuts. Our computer sales system contains allergy information in the database as an extra precaution. At the point of check out we can cross check the child’s lunch for any allergens that may be in the daily menu.
Online Lunch Account Access
​We offer our parents the ability to monitor their children's lunchtime purchases, make deposits into their meal accounts, and have an email reminder sent to you when their account balance gets low. This is an online service through holycross.familyportal.cloud/

Volunteer Opportunities
​The Holy Cross kitchen is great place for anyone who likes to do hands on volunteering. The children absolutely love to see their parents when they are in the lunch line! We need several volunteers every day, so please contact Mrs. Beall via email at hcakitchen@holycrossweb.com if you are interested in joining our team of kitchen volunteers. As an added incentive you get to enjoy a great lunch after volunteering.
