My name is Jenna Delaney, and I am the middle school history teacher. I am a recent graduate from Liberty University where I received dual bachelor’s degrees in Secondary Education and in History along with my VA state licensure. I am very happy to be starting my teaching career at Holy Cross Academy as a history teacher for middle schoolers. It was in middle school, at St. Timothy’s in Chantilly, that I really began to enjoy this subject. During my time in college, I was able to gain a deeper love for the Catholic faith and for History. After many long nights in the library working on papers, I cannot wait to share all I have learned about the subject. I spent my last semester of college teaching eighth grade geography, which has been beneficial to understanding the impact of culture and histories that shaped the world today.
Throughout middle and high school, I played softball and helped with the drama productions. But now during my free time I am often reading a book or trying my hand at baking bread and playing pickleball. I am a firm believer that everyone is a lifelong learner, and I look forward to encouraging all my students to have a passion for learning (even if it is not history related).
